CHURCH-RELATED EVENTS and ANNOUNCEMENTS
How we celebrate the birth of our Savior and Lord!
The Christmas Pageant
11:30 am, Sunday (the Lord’s Day!), December 22.
The Sabbath School children teach, and learn, how the various parts of the Christmas story fit together through a sequence of tableaux accompanied by Bible passages and Christmas songs sung by the congregation.
The Christmas Eve Service
7:30 pm, Tuesday, December 24. This occasion is for families and the whole community, so invite the neighbors!
The service entails scripture readings and Christmas hymns that tell of Christ’s coming, in the traditional format of Nine Lessons and Carols. This particular service order originated in Cornwall in 1880, was popularized across the UK, and assumed the format we use today at King’s College, Cambridge, in 1919.
Also, a special offering will be taken, the only one of its kind in the year, for the relief of widows of pastors and for local diaconal needs. Then we will have a Christmas story, often locally written, followed by refreshments and fellowship.

Church Session
The Session is the governing body of RPC, comprising the elders, with deacons as resource helpers. The RPC Session will meet next at 6:30 pm, Wednesday, December 18. Please forward any matters requiring church officer attention to Elder John Stallings, the clerk of the Session.
Men's Prayer Breakfast
The next monthly prayer breakfast will be at 8 am, Saturday, January 11. All who attend often will tell you this is a very valuable prayer time. All men in and around the church are welcome. Join us in the Fellowship Hall. Come early, if you like, to help with the food.
Ladies’ First Saturday
All ladies in the church are invited to this time of prayer and projects together on the first Saturday of each month, except when other events take that slot. Ask Cindy Ryckman for details.
Our Historic Church
Our church building was built in the 1870s and will always need periodic maintenance and repairs. For example, stained glass windows, steeple resurfacing and bell tower restoration, replacement of faded signs outside of the church. Gifts to support these efforts may be placed in the Jehoash Box in the Buffet Room or in the offering plate with a memo indicating "Building Fund."
We thank God for these upgrades in recent years:
– Seven of 11 the stained glass windows have been rebuilt, and the rest will be done in time.
– The Sanctuary ceiling has a subtle, new tile-like covering.
– The exterior of the Sanctuary has been painted!
– We have new carpeting.
– We have new pew cushions -- well crafted and durable looking.
– The steeple and bell tower have been repaired and repainted.
– The church signs have been updated in front of the church and in the alley facing the tracks.
